Airbus is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Avionics) to join the Ohakea Base Maintenance team. You will perform on-aircraft and off-aircraft avionics maintenance, troubleshoot complex systems, and implement modifications to keep RNZAF T-6C Texan assets mission-ready.
The role requires NZ-recognised qualifications in avionics, strong airworthiness knowledge, and the ability to work in a regulated defence environment.
Location: Ohakea, NZ
We are looking for a skilled AME (Avionics) to join our elite Base Maintenance team in Ohakea. If you thrive on hands-on technical challenges, love cracking complex system quirks, and take pride in keeping cutting-edge avionics operating at peak performance, you will fit right in.
Working within a supportive, tight-knit team, you will directly support Royal New Zealand Airforce (RNZAF). Your day-to-day will involve a dynamic mix of on-aircraft and off-aircraft maintenance, advanced systems troubleshooting, rapid rectification tasks, and complex modifications, directly ensuring the operational readiness of a high-profile fleet.
Due to the critical nature of this defence project, you must be able to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Defence Force security clearance. Because of this requirement, only New Zealand Citizens (including dual citizens holding New Zealand citizenship) are eligible to apply.
You are a meticulous professional who takes pride in precision, maintains flawless standards, and always puts aircraft safety first. You thrive in a fast-paced, highly technical environment where details matter, and you enjoy being part of a team that always has each other's backs.
We seek to inspire our people to grow, so you have the right mindset, behaviours and skills to thrive and achieve the organisation goals whilst being focussed on your personal development through classroom and online learning.
We value the health and wellbeing of our employees and offer true flexibility that allows you to balance your career with what is important to you outside of work. We will celebrate your successes and achievements with a formal reward and recognition program.
At Airbus, we recognise that we are strengthened by diversity. We are committed to providing a work environment in which everyone is included, treated fairly and with respect. Diversity is key to our ability to work cohesively as a team regardless of age, disability, race, sex, intersex status, gender identity and sexual orientation.
Airbus is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Female applicants, people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent and ex-defence personnel are encouraged to apply.
