Job summary

Airways International Ltd in Wellington Central is recruiting an AIM Specialist focused on GIS and charting to join the Aeropath team. You will work with aeronautical charts, geospatial datasets and operational publications to support aviation in New Zealand and beyond.

You will combine GIS, cartography and spatial data management, using PostgreSQL/PostGIS and Python to automate workflows, and you will engage with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and quality of published information.

Qualifications

• GIS, cartography or spatial data management experience.
• Experience with geospatial databases and data-driven workflows.
• Familiarity with open-source GIS technologies and their configuration.
• Experience with process automation or software-supported workflows.
• Experience in mapping, charting or technical publishing environments.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain aeronautical charts, geospatial datasets and publications.
• Perform GIS analysis, cartography and spatial data management.
• Develop GIS-based and data-driven charting solutions.
• Administer PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases and spatial data infrastructure.
• Develop Python-based automation to improve workflows.
• Engage stakeholders to ensure quality and suitability of published information.
• Continuously improve charting systems, standards and publishing processes.
