Job summary

Deloitte NZ in Wellington is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build and deploy generative and agentic AI solutions across cloud platforms and enterprise environments.

You will work with leading technologies and collaborate with AI leaders, engineers and consultants to accelerate delivery while developing your expertise and delivering measurable impact for clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in a consulting, professional services or technology environment in an engineering, architecture or technical consulting role.
• Proven experience delivering cloud-native solutions using platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying generative AI, agentic AI or intelligent automation solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy generative and agentic AI solutions from concept through to production.
• Partner with clients and Deloitte teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop and optimise AI applications, workflows and integrations across cloud and enterprise platforms.
• Apply engineering best practices including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, security and responsible AI.
• Create and apply reusable assets, accelerators and reference architectures to scale AI delivery.
• Support proposal development, project delivery and stakeholder engagement across client engagements.
• Stay at the forefront of AI, continuously building your expertise and sharing knowledge with the wider team.

About the Role

As a Cloud Platform Engineer within our Engineering team, you'll design, build and deploy generative and agentic AI solutions across cloud and enterprise platforms.

You’ll work across the AI Delivery Lifecycle (AI-DLC), from architecture and engineering through to deployment and optimisation. This includes developing multi-agent workflows, integrating enterprise data sources and building AI capabilities that help our teams and clients work smarter.

You’ll gain exposure to a diverse range of industries, technologies and business challenges while working alongside Deloitte's AI specialists, directors and partners to accelerate your technical and professional growth.

A week in the life

You will:

Design, build and deploy generative and agentic AI solutions from concept through to production.

About You

You will bring:

Experience in a consulting, professional services or technology environment in an engineering, architecture or technical consulting role.

Maintaining a high level of continuous learning in the latest tools and processes available in market, particularly with regards to engineering and delivery of generative and agentic AI technologies.

Proven experience delivering cloud-native solutions using platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Hands‑on experience designing and deploying generative AI, agentic AI or intelligent automation solutions.

The ability to translate business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients.

A collaborative mindset, curiosity for emerging technologies and a passion for continuous learning.
