Qualifications

• 7+ years progressive accounting experience in multi-site NZ operations.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management capabilities.
• Experience using AI and automation tools in a business setting.
• Ability to analyze margins, WIP, forecast costs and financial risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; translate complex data into commercial advice.
• Strong systems and data capability; detail-oriented with big-picture view.
• Commercial construction experience preferred, with project accounting understanding.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of financial management, controls and reporting.
• Produce monthly management accounts that are accurate and meaningful.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
• Maintain understanding of financial position, performance and forward workload.
• Ensure appropriate financial controls, policies and processes.
• Manage year-end requirements and relationships with accountants, auditors, banks.
• Oversee tax, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Manage construction finance and P&L.
• Oversee project-level performance vs overall financial performance.
• Understand drivers of business performance.
• Identify financial and commercial risks early.
• Improve forecasting and scenario planning.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards.
• Translate financial information into commercial recommendations.
• Utilize AI, automation, and modern financial tech to improve management.
