Job summary

The Trades Academy Tutor at Primary ITO will support students through the Schools Pathway Programmes, helping them gain skills and confidence to pursue careers in agriculture and primary industries. This fixed-term role is based at Pio Pio and involves delivering practical learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
• Experience in agriculture or primary industries.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching or mentoring young people.
• Ability to engage learners with interactive training.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Schools Pathway Programmes that provide engaging and meaningful learning experiences for students.
• Equip students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to pursue employment and further training opportunities within the agriculture and primary industries sectors.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their potential.
• Monitor student progress and ensure assessments, results, reviews, and programme documentation are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with schools, farmers, employers, and other industry stakeholders.
• Promote and uphold safe work practices, ensuring all programme activities meet health and safety requirements.
