Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Ltd. is seeking a senior leader to manage a cohort of Agribusiness Relationship Managers and embed a strong team culture across the region.

You will focus on coordinating workflow, developing capabilities, and delivering outstanding customer outcomes while partnering with the Head of Agribusiness on strategy execution and risk management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a cohort of Agribusiness Relationship Managers to drive outstanding customer service.
  • Coach RMs in customer meetings, account and portfolio planning.
  • Create operating rhythms, manage workflow and capacity, and identify training needs.
  • Oversee risk, compliance and conduct, and performance management for the region.
  • Build relationships with local customers, businesses and associations; drive NPS improvements.

Mō te tūranga | About the Role

Manage a cohort of Agribusiness Relationship Managers (RM’s) and be instrumental in developing and embedding a strong team culture. You will manage workflow and capacity whilst building capability, both technical and soft skills, ensuring you role model change whilst ensuring activities and behaviours are at the required level. As the face of Westpac Agribusiness and Westpac you will work closely with the Head of Agribusiness on strategies and leading the execution of these. Exceptional leadership will see you manage Risk and Compliance disciplines, people KPI’s and be responsible for performance management, recruitment, development and succession planning for the region.

Leadership and People
  • Accountability for all customer related risk controls
  • Coach and observe RMs in their approach to customer meetings, account planning and portfolio planning.
  • Create and manage disciplines and operating rhythm
  • Identify technical and soft skills training requirements to lift individual and collective RM capability
  • Lead Motivate conversations and support career development
  • Ensure RM activities and behaviours are at level required
  • Implement and role model Change Management Customer Experience
  • Align business activities to ensure the Agri team consistently focus on delivering outstanding customer service
  • Lead your team to drive NPS improvements
  • Create a strong in-market regional presence and build relationships with key local customers, businesses, and associations
  • Work with business partners across WNZL to ensure best customer outcomes and advice are consistently delivered
  • Conduct regular monitoring activities to ensure high quality customer interactions are occurring including coaching & observing customer conversations and associated record keeping
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and projects that aim to improve the experience of Agri customers, including having the courage to constructively challenge policies and procedures that do not support best customer outcomes.
Performance Disciplines
  • Ensure your team takes a diligent approach to pricing and that focus is maintained on financial performance and market share growth
  • Ensure your team plan and deliver proactive customer engagement plans as required
  • Manage workflow queues for your Area to agreed standards to ensure we meet and exceed targeted customer contact times, addressing productivity issues where required.
  • Champion and embed WNZL and IBB strategy and changes by engaging with colleagues across IBB and the bank
Risk Management
  • Work with Risk, Compliance and Conduct to ensure all risk is well managed for the business unit
  • Support your people to comply with all workplace policies and procedures to ensure regulatory and legislative requirements are met.
  • Where required follow up performance issues with disciplined use of the Westpac Conduct Framework
  • To ensure our market practices demonstrate ethical standards so that the way we operate reflects WNZL’s commitment to being an ethically conscious organisation
  • Ensure you are familiar and always comply with Westpac’s health and safety policy and procedures, including recording and reporting all hazards, discomfort, accidents or incidents
  • Where required take ownership to escape and resolve risk issues that impact Agri Banking
  • Ensure team members maintain strong disciplines around recording and escalation of customer complaints, where management assistance is required take ownership for resolution of complaints
  • Ensure all risk review / exception reporting is followed up in a timely manner
