Job summary

MBIE in central Wellington is seeking an experienced Advisor to join the Integrity Team. You will conduct internal investigations into staff misconduct and integrity risks, and provide advice, analysis and education to managers and staff.

This permanent, full-time role supports MBIE’s integrity management framework within a collaborative Legal, Ethics and Privacy environment. You’ll work independently, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and contribute to a culture of honesty, transparency

Qualifications

  • Proven experience conducting internal investigations, ideally in an integrity, compliance or regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of investigative methodologies and techniques
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
  • Experience building trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • High levels of integrity and discretion
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • The legal right to live and work in New Zealand
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance to Secret level

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and support internal investigations into alleged staff misconduct, including fraud, dishonesty, conflicts of interest and other integrity risks.
  • Help build integrity capability across MBIE by providing advice, analysis and education to managers and staff.
  • Support MBIE’s integrity management framework delivery and continuous improvement within the Integrity Team

About the Role - Tēnei tūranga:

We’re looking for an experienced Advisor to join MBIE’s Integrity Team, part of the Legal, Ethics and Privacy Branch. This role supports the delivery of MBIE’s integrity management framework and contributes to a culture where honesty, transparency and ethical behaviour are valued.

You’ll conduct and support internal investigations into alleged staff misconduct, including fraud, dishonesty, conflicts of interest and other integrity risks. You’ll also help build integrity capability across MBIE by providing advice, analysis and education to managers and staff.
