Job summary

Waikato Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Therapist to join our Adult Outpatient service on a fixed-term basis to support parental leave cover. The role involves assessment and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing disorders, with travel to rural clinics as needed.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience, NZSTA membership or eligibility, and a collaborative approach within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• NZSTA membership or eligibility is required.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Speech Language Therapy from NZSTA-accredited programme or approval.
• Open to working within a multi-disciplinary team toward patient-focused goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team to achieve client-focused goals.
• Current valid full New Zealand driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Work predominantly in outpatient clinics at Waikato Hospital and rural clinics.
• Deliver instrumental assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders for adults.
• Collaborate with the MDT to provide diagnostic assessment and intervention services.
