Job summary

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu in Auckland is seeking an additional teacher to work part-time on a fixed-term basis at 0.1 FTE, starting 13 September 2026 and ending 11 December 2026. The role supports an ākonga in their home, delivering personalised learning.

You will work within a professional team, fostering strong relationships with ākonga, whānau and kaiako to implement the individualised learning programme.

Qualifications

• Must hold current New Zealand Teaching Registration.
• Right to reside or work in NZ.
• Ability to support learning across multiple subjects listed.
• Experience in home-based or distance education is a plus.

As an additional teacher you'll work with an ākonga (student) in their home based in Grafton. You'll play a vital part of a professional team who work together to provide our ākonga with support in relation to their individualised learning programme.

This position is during school term time only. To be considered for this role you must have the right to reside or work in New Zealand and hold a current New Zealand Teachers Registration.

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners.
