Job summary

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is seeking a dedicated professional for the Alcohol & Drug Services team based at Hawke’s Bay Regional Prison. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, prepare treatment plans, facilitate group programmes and provide individual counselling to Tane to support wellness and rehabilitation.

The role offers a kaupapa Māori work environment with strong team support, regular professional development and working hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Proficient in report writing and case management.
• Experience working with whānau.
• Registration with DAPAANZ, NZAC or other professional body (e.g., Social Work).

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive assessments for Tane in the AOD service.
• Prepare treatment plans and facilitate group programmes.
• Provide individual counselling to Tane and monitor wellness progress.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team, committed to empowering Tane with the skills and knowledge necessary for transformative change. In this role, you will be completing comprehensive assessments, preparing treatment plans, facilitating group programmes and providing individual counselling to Tane within the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Service. You will play a key role in supporting their wellness and rehabilitation journey.

This is a great opportunity to be a part of positive change, that will benefit individuals and their whānau. We are a large team, based in our own area within HB Regional Prison. We have modern facilities, a great coffee machine and a supportive team environment in this unique location. The hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm [40 hours].

Key Requirements:
