Job summary

Oceania Healthcare Ltd is seeking a full-time Activities Assistant for Duart Village, Havelock North. You will work closely with the Diversional Therapist to develop engaging activity programmes and support residents in participation and wellbeing.

Applicants should have planning experience, strong people skills, and a cheerful, energetic approach. A NZ driver’s licence and the right to work in NZ are required, with weekend availability expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning and coordinating activities for residents.
• Empathy for the elderly and ability to engage diverse residents.
• Excellent communication and IT skills to document and coordinate activities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Diversional Therapist to plan and run varied resident activities.
• Encourage resident participation and tailor activities to abilities and needs.
• Follow Oceania policies to maintain a safe, supportive environment for residents.

The role

Our Duart Village in Havelock North are looking for a full time Activities Assistant to join their dedicated team.

What you'll be doing:

• Working closely with our Diversional Therapist to create and implement fun and varied activities programmes for our residents
• Understanding residents' needs and abilities and encouraging them to take part in activities
• Following our company policies and procedures to create a safe environment for our residents.

What you'll bring:

• Previous experience in planning and coordinating activities
• Great people skills with empathy for the elderly
• Excellent communication and IT skills
• A vibrant and energetic personality
• A clean NZ driver's licence
• Flexible multitasking skills
• The ability to work on the weekends.
