Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Gisborne is seeking a Pre & Post-Operative ACNM within the Perioperative Department for a fixed-term, full-time role. You will provide day-to-day operational and clinical leadership across the Day of Surgery Unit, Pre-Admission Clinic and be part of the Perioperative Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current practising certificate.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of recent clinical experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience within a surgical, perioperative, or acute care setting.
• Proven ability to lead and support colleagues in a clinical environment.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to quality improvement and patient-centred care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe practice.

About the Role

An exciting fixed-term opportunity has arisen for a Pre & Post-Operative ACNM, Perioperative Department.

This designated nursing role provides day-to-day operational and clinical leadership across the Day of Surgery Unit, Pre-Admission Clinic and is a key member of the Perioperative Leadership Team. Working in partnership with clinical and operational leaders, the role supports the delivery of safe, efficient and patient-centred care across the perioperative pathway.

Key responsibilities include:

• Promoting quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Supporting staff development, education, and performance
