We're looking for an experienced and capable Accounts Manager to manage our day-to-day accounts function.

We're looking for an experienced and capable Accounts Manager to manage our day-to-day accounts function.
This is a hands‑on, end‑to‑end role combining traditional accounts management with the reconciliation of operational and financial data across our logging, cartage, domestic and export activities.
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Maintain and reconcile Xero, including bank and credit card accounts
Monitor cash flow and upcoming payments
Prepare and process supplier and creditor payments
Manage customer and management invoicing
Maintain PS Log (forestry software) and complete monthly reconciliations
Reconcile logging, cartage and customer reports
Investigate missing log dockets, pricing, volume and other discrepancies
Prepare logging, cartage and landowner reporting
Prepare and process Buyer Created Invoices (BCIs) for clients and contractors
Monitor outstanding debtors and follow up overdue accounts
Complete month-end accounts and prepare reporting for management
Assist with GST and other IRD requirements
Liaise directly with external accountants
Maintain accurate financial records, rates and supporting documentation
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience in accounts management, bookkeeping or a similar end‑to‑end accounts role
Is confident using Xero
Is strong with Excel/spreadsheets and comfortable working with large amounts of data
Has solid experience with account and month‑end reconciliations
Can confidently investigate discrepancies and work with the relevant parties to resolve them
Has a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Is organised and able to manage recurring weekly and monthly deadlines
Is confident communicating with customers, suppliers, contractors and accountants
Can work independently and take responsibility for the accounts function
Experience within forestry, transport, logistics or another operational industry would be advantageous but isn't essential.
