Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Accountant to join the finance team in Queenstown, New Zealand. The role focuses on maintaining financial records, preparing statements, and ensuring accuracy across all accounting operations within a financial services context.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, solid GAAP knowledge, and experience with Pastel, Sage, and SAP, along with advanced Excel proficiency. This is a hands-on position with budgeting support and compliance duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Professional accounting qualification (SAIPA, SAICA) is an advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services.
• Proficiency with accounting software (Pastel, Sage, SAP) and Excel.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Support internal and external audits.
