Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking four Class 5 truck drivers for its Bay of Plenty (Tauranga) team. Responsibilities include timely delivery of chilled/frozen/produce goods, loading and unloading, and ensuring paperwork accompanies freight.

A minimum of two years’ Class 5 driving and reversing experience is required, along with a valid Class 5 licence. The role offers a rotating roster with day/night shifts and a minimum 30 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicle combinations to destinations in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• Hook and unhook trailers from prime movers, reversing to dock as required.
• Load and unload freight with or without mechanical handling equipment.
• Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight.
• Inspect unit for defects and safe operating conditions before, during, and after trip.
• Maintain a logbook as per NZ rules and regulations.
• Inform customer service if running late to delivery/pick-up destination.
• Pick up/unload empties on runs.

The truck drivers in this position are responsible for the timely delivery of goods (chilled/frozen/produce foods) from one location to another, potentially with stops during the journey. The drivers will be responsible for the product during the journey and will oversee the loading and unloading processes.

We are looking to add four Class 5 truck drivers with experience to our dedicated team.

Benefits

• We provide a rotating roster, night and day shifts, as well as weekend employment.
• A minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed.
• Hourly Rate: $30 to $36 per hour, based upon experience.

Core objectives include

• Drive vehicle combinations to destinations in accordance with regulations and company procedures
• Hook and unhook trailers from prime movers (truck/trailer, semi, B-train), including accurately positioning units as required/reversing to dock.
• Load and unload unit either individually or with assistance, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment
• Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight (please note these tasks are part of most of our runs)
• Inspect unit for defects and safe operating conditions before, during, and after trip.
• Ensure that all load documentation required to move with freight is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies freight when delivered
• Maintain a logbook as per NZ rules and regulations.
• All the drivers MUST inform customer service when they are running late to the delivery/pick-up destination.
• Drivers MUST pick up/unload any empties on runs. Required qualities
