Job summary

Papatoetoe North School in Auckland is seeking three permanent classroom teachers to start at the beginning of the 2027 school year.

We are a Year 1–6 school with single cell classrooms and strong teamwork; bilingual classes are offered in Te Reo Māori, Samoan, Tongan and Hindi, with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Domestic applicants only; training is provided in BSLA literacy, and base salary ranges from $56,000 to $103,000. An induction programme will support successful candidates.

We have 3 permanent classroom teacher positions throughout the school available from the start of the 2027 school year.

Our school is a year 1-6 with no MLE spaces and instead uses single cell classrooms with strong teamwork and collaboration.

Our school community is made from 50% Pacific Nations, 30% Indian/Fijian Indian and 20% Māori, the successful applicant will have knowledge and/or experience in working with communities like ours.

We have bilingual classes in Te Reo Māori, Samoan, Tongan and Hindi, as well as English medium classes.

Our school operates with a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and we believe that every student should enjoy success as themselves.

We are looking for positive, inclusive classroom teachers who will build relationships with students and families as a foundation for effective teaching.

We use BSLA within our literacy programme and training will be provided for an applicant if required.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position are set by the relevant collective agreement. Base salary for trained and registered teachers ranges from $56,000 to $103,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
