Job summary

Kohia Terrace School in Auckland is seeking a passionate, NZ-trained certificated teacher for Years 1–8 to cover a fixed-term parental leave.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, dynamic learning across the primary/intermediate span, with knowledge of structured literacy (The Code) and the current NZ curriculum, and a commitment to collaborative practice, inquiry-based learning, and ongoing assessment for learning.

Qualifications

• NZ registered teacher with current practising certificate.
• Experience teaching primary to intermediate across Years 1–8.
• Ability to work collaboratively and meet diverse learners' needs.
• Knowledge of The Code structured literacy and NZ curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, dynamic lessons across Years 1–8.

Due to a teacher taking a year's parental leave, we have a wonderful opportunity to be part of the middle area of our school. This fixed term position commences 28th January 2027, and finishes Friday 17th December 2027.

We are looking for a passionate, New Zealand trained teacher who values working collaboratively. The successful candidate should have proven ability to provide an engaging and dynamic learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students. Knowledge of structured literacy practice (desirably The Code) and current curriculum content is essential.
