sKids Riverhead is seeking an Assistant Programme Manager to help run after-school and morning sessions. You’ll work a minimum of 10 hours per week, with shifts from 7am–8:30am and 2:30pm–6:00pm, Monday to Friday, and potential holiday programme hours.

You’ll support operations, lead sessions when needed, supervise groups of tamariki, and coordinate activities with the team. In this role you’ll guide Programme Assistants, interact with parents and school staff, and help set up and pack down

Qualifications

• Must have the right to work in New Zealand.
• Reliable transport to Riverhead site.
• Experience working with groups of children (e.g. OSCAR, childcare, coaching, teaching).
• Confident stepping into a leadership role when needed, with initiative and decision making.
• Experience managing behaviour in group settings and remaining calm, firm and supportive.
• Team player who can both support and lead others when required.
• Strong communication with children, parents and school staff.
• Over 20 years old as per regulations.

Responsabilités

• Support the Programme Manager in day-to-day running of the sKids programme to ensure smooth, well-structured operations.
• Step up as 2IC and confidently lead sessions when the Programme Manager is away.
• Supervise and engage large groups of tamariki in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.
• Assist in planning and delivering structured activities including arts & crafts, sports, games, and offsite trips.
• Support with managing challenging behaviour using positive guidance strategies.
• Help guide and support Programme Assistants on shift to ensure expectations are met.
• Build positive relationships with parents, caregivers and school staff through clear communication.
• Assist with set-up, pack-down and preparation of resources to ensure sessions run smoothly.
