Job summary

Tauranga City Council is seeking a Library & Community Hub Assistant for 20 hours per week across Mon, Fri and Sun, with shifts at Pāpāmoa and Greerton Libraries. The role emphasises friendly customer service and helping people access library and digital resources.

The position requires a passion for community engagement, with training in the first four weeks and potential for additional shifts during onboarding.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' work experience, preferably in a library, community or customer service environment.
• Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage with Tauranga City community across diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist community members to access library and council resources, programmes and events.
• Issue, return and shelve library items.
• Promote, book and deliver library programmes.
