Job summary

Waihi East School in Waikato, New Zealand, invites applications for two full-time, fixed-term teaching positions for 2027. Start date 2027-01-28 and end date 2028-01-27 (refreshment leave). One role may be in a new entrant classroom, with responsibilities across Years 1–8.

Qualifications

• Must hold New Zealand certificated teaching status.
• Ability to teach across Years 1–8.
• Knowledge of the New Zealand curriculum.
• Trauma-informed approach is advantageous.
• Structured Literacy and/or Structured Mathematics training is preferred (BSLA school).

Responsibilities

• Teach across the full primary/intermediate curriculum (Years 1–8).
• Collaborate with team to plan and assess student progress.
• Contribute to school improvement and roll growth initiatives.

An exciting opportunity has come up for 2 teachers to join our team. We are looking for teachers to join our school for 2027 due to a teacher taking leave for one year and also roll growth. One position will possibly be in a new entrant classroom.

Skills, knowledge or passion with the New Zealand curriculum, through a trauma informed lens would be advantageous. It would also be ideal if the applicant has completed training in Structured Literacy and or Structured Mathematics, we are a BSLA school.
