Overview

Vessel Manager in Massterly. Massterly, a joint venture between Kongsberg Maritime and Wilhelmsen, is a company with the core business of operating unmanned autonomous vessels. The operation builds on Wilhelmsen’s expertise in ship operation and Kongsberg Maritime’s technology. Massterly is now in the position where our pilot projects are entering final test phase, and the vessels are operating commercially. Massterly is now looking for a Vessel Manager who will have the technical management within a ship group.

Responsibilities
  • responsible for the safe, efficient and environment conscious operation of the vessels assigned. This includes compliance with statutory and industry recommended rules and regulations.
  • Follow up on budget with shipboard management.
  • Together with shipboard management, ensure safe operation of vessels and follow up, charter party and other cargo/transport commitments, and client meetings.
  • Take part in coordination of 3rd party contractors and agreements.
  • Planning of conversions and new acquisitions.
  • Coordinate with the HSEQ manager with matters regarding vessel operation
  • Oversee commercial operation, planning and executing maintenance of the ship.
The role will also assist in
  • Initiate meetings with vessel crew regarding planning of pit stops and dockings.
  • Follow up flag state approvals, coordinate with HSEQ manager
  • Comply with the Company’s procedures and measures on cyber security management.
  • Oversee the proper implementation of the Company’s training and familiarisation requirements for the contractors (if applicable).
  • Ensure that effective means and channels of communication are available amongst the vessel on board and between the vessel and the Company.
Qualifications
  • Technical/maritime qualifications, preferably with seagoing experience as Chief Engineer or Master or previous experience as VM
  • or Degree in naval architecture or marine engineering with relevant office experience
