Job summary

RedLine Freight Services seeks a Typesetting Assistant to support the Typesetter with formatting and layout for print and digital documents. Based in Svalbard, you will gain hands-on experience in the publishing workflow while collaborating with a small team to meet deadlines.

You should have a strong eye for detail, be proficient in Adobe InDesign and Word, and possess solid communication skills. Prior typesetting or design experience is a plus.

As a Typesetting Assistant you will be responsible for assisting the Typesetter in preparing documents for print or digital publication This is a great opportunity for someone interested in the publishing industry and looking to gain hands-on experience in typesetting This position is based in Svalbard an archipelago located between Norway and the North Pole

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Typesetter in formatting and layout of text images and other elements according to design specifications
• Proofread documents to ensure accuracy of text spacing and formatting
• Collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines
• Organize and maintain files for easy access and retrieval
• Use software programs such as Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word to typeset documents
• Communicate with clients to gather project requirements and make necessary revisions

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent degree in graphic design or related field is a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign Microsoft Word and other graphic design software
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow design guidelines
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in typesetting or graphic design
• Knowledge of typography principles
• Familiarity with printing processes
• Fluency in English other languages are a plus

Salary 1700$ per month
