We are hiring a talented and creative Web Designer to join our team in Svalbard.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing website layouts, graphics and user interfaces
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to determine client needs and project requirements
• Ensuring all designs are responsive, accessible and optimized for different devices
• Conducting user research to understand target audience and incorporate feedback into designs
• Creating wireframes, mockups and prototypes to present design concepts to clients
• Incorporating branding elements into designs to maintain consistency across all platforms
• Staying updated with industry trends, design techniques and emerging technologies

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Web Designer or similar role
• Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong portfolio showcasing web design projects
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience with responsive design principles
• Excellent visual design skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication and time‑management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of SEO principles
• Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal
• Understanding of UI/UX design principles

Salary & Contract

Salary: $1,800 per month, negotiable based on experience.

Contract: This is a contract position for an initial period of 6 months with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must hold a valid biometric passport for travel purposes.

Part‑time hours may be available during the school year for students who have relevant experience or training in web design.
