Job summary

BCD Travel in Norway is seeking a Travel Consultant to be the face of our company, handling requests from current and new clients and helping them travel smart.

You will work in a 24/7 operation with flexible shifts, use Amadeus GDS, and communicate fluently in Norwegian and English. A strong travel industry knowledge and customer service mindset are essential. You will search and confirm reservations, advise on policies, fees and penalties, and contribute to service improvements.

Qualifications

• High level of customer service focus.
• Strong knowledge of travel policies, procedures and processes.
• Fluent Norwegian and English oral and written communication; other Nordic languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Search and confirm travel reservations for clients.
• Provide consultation based on client travel policies.
• Explain regulations, penalties and exchange costs to clients.
• Offer industry information such as low fares, penalties and costs.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and relationships with clients.
• Maintain and expand knowledge of travel industries supported.

As a Travel Agent, you will

• Search and confirm travel reservations for the customer
• Have a strong understanding of a client travel policy and can consistently provide consultation to the customer
• Fulfill all requests regarding necessary regulations
• Provide the client with the required industry information, such as low fares, exchange costs, and penalties
• Seek opportunities to review operational processes and commercial relationships with client to provide suggestions for improvement
• Maintain, actively communicate, and seek expansion of current knowledge of the state of the various travel industries supported

About you

• You have extensive experience as a travel consultant
• Strong expertise in GDS Amadeus
• High level of verbal and written communication skills in Norwegian and English language, additional Nordic languages is a plus
• Solid working knowledge of the travel industry, policies, procedures, and processes
