Job Purpose

As a Tender Engineer you will be responsible for generating quotes for Flow Measurement Products within the Measurement Solutions business. These responsibilities include but are not limited to reviewing customer specifications, issuing RFQs to procurement for cost, preparing proposals, entering sales orders and coordinating through till delivery.

Job Description

  1. Review customer RFQ specifications to understand technical requests and parameters and to solve customer needs by providing value engineered application based solutions
  2. Be familiar with the general specifications and market requirements
  3. Develop specifications for buyout items and obtain competitive quotes from third-party vendors directly or with help of designated purchasing team
  4. Consolidate to cost effective solution
  5. Prepare technical & commercial proposals
  6. Attend clarification meetings with Client as and when required
  7. Ensure that tenders meet company commercial guidelines and have the necessary sign off in accordance with the delegation of authority guidelines
  8. Coordinate with salesperson responsible for the specific customer/inquiry by maintaining regular communication and sharing regular updates
  9. Be familiar with the risks and hazards within the activities and processes of the role and procedures, practices and measures in place to mitigate the risks
  10. Take responsibility for all associated handover documentation in the event of an order
  11. Process and enter Purchase Orders into the approved system
  12. Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) for all activities Integrated from Proposal to handover for execution
  13. Maximize inter-business unit collaboration with virtual team support and lead effective overall co-ordination
  14. Follow and maintain a library of application based templates for budgetary bids with a goal to generate budgetary bids within least possible time
  15. Organize the technical and commercial quote structure based on the customer RFQ expectations, including coordination for trade compliance, legal commercial terms & conditions, bid bonds etc.
  16. Participate in and actively support company initiatives
  17. Work with product management providing knowledge and input from your experience with customers on applications and field issues into new product development ideas
  18. All other duties as relevant to the position

You are meant for this job if:

  1. Degree in Engineering (Instrumentation)
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in functions like applications, inside sales, engineering and procurement/supply chain, ideally in the oil and gas industry.
  3. Be Familiar with general safety regulations/processes at work shop, supplier’s yard, customer’s works, etc.
  4. Knowledge of PC, Windows Office Software. Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  5. Working knowledge of cost estimation and accounting concepts.
  6. Detail oriented and analytical mindset.
  7. Exceptional organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a changing, fast-paced work environment.
  8. Extensive knowledge of Industry Standards such as API, ISO, etc.
  9. Shall have Excellent interpersonal skills to work in a multidisciplinary and global team.
