Job summary

Banco Santander SA in Oslo seeks a 1-year temporary Financial Controller to bridge accounting and financial control, supporting IFRS topics, funding activities and hedge accounting. You will work with a team of ten in Oslo to ensure robust financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

You will gain exposure to IFRS assessments, financial instruments and continuous process improvements, with opportunities to use automation and AI to strengthen quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting/financial control experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and Excel skills.
• Interest in automation and AI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to IFRS assessments, accounting documentation and controls.
• Perform selected month-end activities, reconciliations and monitoring.
• Collaborate with funding, hedge accounting and derivatives teams.
• Support quality assurance of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• Drive process improvements through automation and AI tools.
