Job summary

Santander Nordics in Oslo is seeking a Financial Controller for a 1-year temporary position that blends accounting with financial control, problem-solving and business partnering. You will work on IFRS topics, month-end activities and accounting reconciliations, while supporting funding activities, hedge accounting and derivatives.

The role emphasizes robust reporting and continuous improvement through automation and data quality.

Qualifications

Relevant experience in accounting, auditing or financial control.
Strong understanding of accounting and IFRS.
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
Strong Excel skills; interest in automation/AI is an advantage.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Master's degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Accounting, Auditing or Finance.
Experience with financial instruments, derivatives, hedge accounting or IFRS 9 is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Contribute to IFRS and financial control assessments and documentation.
Perform selected month-end activities, account reconciliations and monitoring.
Work with funding activities, hedge accounting and derivatives.
Contribute to quality assurance of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
Support projects and ad hoc matters with accounting and financial control expertise.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand implications of new products and processes.
Improve processes through standardization, data quality, automation and AI-driven tools.
