Job summary

BW LNG is seeking a motivated Technical Summer Intern to support the Technical team in Oslo. You will gain hands-on experience in maintenance, budgeting, technical support, and incident handling within a leading global maritime group.

The role offers collaboration with senior superintendents, opportunities to learn about vessel management, and exposure to real-world technical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Marine Technical Operations / Engineering, Maritime Leadership / Management – Technical or related shipping studies.
  • Currently in your 3rd or 4th year of study.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Sailing experience is an advantage.
  • High motivation and drive.
  • Proven ability to work independently, but with strong teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with cultural awareness.
  • Strong analytical mindset.
  • Great interest in development of technical solutions.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking:

Technical Summer Intern

In order to support our vision to be Best on Water, BW is looking for a highly motivated summer intern to support our Technical team. This is your opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with one of the world’s leading maritime organisations. BW LNG currently operates, owns and manages a fleet of 27 LNG carriers and 4 FSRUs from our Oslo office, with all related services in‑house. Our Technical team consists of highly experienced superintendents. You will work in close collaboration with them and technical support functions to learn, contribute and gain valuable insight into technical vessel management.

Responsibilities may include supporting Technical Superintendents with:
  • Maintenance management
  • Purchase and budget control
  • Technical support
  • Handling incident and non‑conformity reports
  • Reporting
  • Warranty and claims
  • Other ad‑hoc duties
  • Actual tasks will depend on qualifications and departmental needs at the time
Qualifications:
