Team Lead, Laying and Systems

ONBOARDING YOU TO THE COMPANY

In Power Transmission, this means delivering the world’s longest and most complex HV subsea and land cable systems to connect nations and drive the global energy transition. We deliver EPCI turnkey projects anywhere in the world. This means we have the best tools, equipment and people with competence and skillset to produce, install and service those cables.

CHOOSING NEXANS

At Nexans, your work powers the global transition to renewable energy. We offer meaningful careers with purpose, backed by over a century of expertise in electrification. You’ll benefit from international mobility, strong development programs, and a culture that values inclusion, innovation, and wellbeing. Join us to electrify the future!

WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

The Marine Installation Engineering group consists of almost 150 engineers working with marine operations. You will be part of the Cable Laying department, which enables the company in its ability to plan and execute marine installation activities worldwide. Our unique blend of young talent and seasoned experts creates a great environment for professional growth and personal development. By joining our team, you will get to work alongside great colleagues that thrive in a collaborative and social environment.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Together with fellow Team Leads and the Manager for the Marine Laying & System Engineering group, you will carry direct personal responsibility for a team of 15–18 engineers. This is not just a resource management role — you are their primary point of contact for everything from workload and project allocation to individual development and personal well-being.

You will follow up with each team member individually on a regular basis, ensuring they feel seen, supported, and set up for success. You take an active interest in their professional growth — identifying development needs, facilitating learning opportunities, and helping them navigate challenges across both technical and interpersonal dimensions.

On the organisational side, you allocate engineers across projects in collaboration with other Team Leads, maintain and develop departmental competence, and ensure effective interfaces with other Nexans departments. A key part of your impact is also driving organisational optimisation, simplification, and standardisation — identifying opportunities to streamline ways of working and establish consistent practices that raise quality and efficiency across the department.

You make a further strong contribution by actively participating in Quality and HSE activities.

YOUR STARTING POINT

We know that the best candidates don’t always match every requirement listed, but here are some examples of the background and experience that can help you thrive in the role:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience from the energy, subsea, construction, or infrastructure sector.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and following up a team of people — both professionally and personally.
  • Ability to delegate effectively; skilled at interpreting requirements and contracts, and defining scope of work.
  • Practical mindset — able to see the full picture, connect the dots, and bring structure to complex situations.
  • Creative, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Experience with planning operations, and writing technical procedures and specifications.
  • Ability to read, understand, and assure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Proven track record in driving organisational optimisation, simplification, and standardisation.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eager to expand knowledge within your own discipline and adjacent interface areas.
  • Fluent in English, – oral and written.
  • Your personal values are aligned to those of Nexans: Pioneer, Dedicated, United.
