Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tax Manager to strengthen our global tax team. This role is a key role in ensuring that Höegh Evi meets local tax requirements at the highest professional level securing compliance with regulations and policies across the globe.

This role reports to the SVP of Global Tax and will be located in Oslo.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will combine experience from accounting/auditing with strong knowledge of international tax with all or a mix of the following background:

  • 3-5 years of experience from similar positions and/or experience from audit/tax work.
  • Good knowledge of international tax issues and cross-border tax issues, including understanding of Transfer Pricing matters.
  • Hands-on accounting experience and solid understanding of internal controls.
  • Solid computer skills; especially Excel.
  • Experience with working with accounting systems and tools, such as IFS.
  • International experience (either studied/worked abroad or work experience from a multinational company) would be advantageous.
  • Organized and self-driven.
Key Responsibilities
  • In this role, you will handle a wide range of tax activities, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure tax compliance and reporting. Your responsibilities will include;
  • Review/control the foreign tax assessments; including, but not limited to, crew tax, withholding tax, VAT/GST in accordance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, rules, regulations and internal procedures.
  • Systematically collect updated tax information and provide this to our internal & external compliance partners to enable them to correctly calculate, deduct and report tax.
  • Further design and implement guidelines for tax reporting for many tax jurisdictions.
  • Support in tax audits and communication with authorities around the world.
  • Support production and review of Transfer Pricing documentation.
  • Provide professional advice to internal departments on tax and VAT matters.
