Job summary

ConFlip in Svalbard is seeking a skilled Handyman on a contract basis to join our facilities team. You will perform maintenance and repair tasks across building systems, including basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work, to keep operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has proven hands-on experience, can work independently with minimal supervision, and possesses excellent time-management and physical stamina to handle lifting and long days on-site in challenging Arctic conditions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Handyman or similar role
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and patching walls
• Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and address them before they become larger problems
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and plumbing problems
• Complete minor carpentry tasks such as building shelves or repairing furniture
• Maintain inventory of tools and supplies needed for maintenance work
• Communicate with management about any major repairs or projects that require outside contractors
