Job description
Sr / Medical Laboratory Technologist - Histopathology Lab

You will be part of TTSH's Department of Pathology, contributing to clinical diagnosis via histology. You will be working independently and in teams in a controlled environment.

Experienced candidates with prior histology experience may be involved in technical and professional support for specialized histopathology techniques to facilitate the diagnosis of cases. You will perform ancillary tests such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), electron microscopy (EM), single gene testing (SGT), fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) and next generation sequencing (NGS) on histopathology and cytopathology specimens.

Other duties include:

  • Operate and maintain relevant laboratory equipment. Ensure maintenance charts and documentation are kept up to date.
  • Assist the Section Leader with preparations for department inspections conducted by various licensing, regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement activities.
  • Assist in the co-supervision / co-training of staff.
  • Assist to organize, coordinate and provide continuing education to colleagues.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Section Leader or Head of Service.
