Tieto Banktech in Bergen is seeking a Software Architect to modernize and scale our Card Issuing platform. You will contribute to cloud-native migrations, API ecosystems, and architectural governance as we expand beyond the Nordics.

We are looking for a Software Architect who wants to be part of Tieto Banktech in Card Issuing unit. Tieto Banktech powers some of the Nordics’ most trusted banking systems with secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. Using automation, data, AI, and cloud, supported by hands‑on guidance, we help banks modernize their core, strengthen trust, and deliver greater impact across the banking experience. As Software Architect for the Card Issuing unit, you will play a key role in modernizing and scaling our modular Cards platform. We are looking for someone with experience in payment card technology and/or deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS. Our cloud transformation is a key enabler for expanding beyond the Nordics, delivering scalable and resilient solutions to Tier 1 banks across Central Europe and the UK. Over time, you will also contribute to strategic initiatives such as AI and advanced data analytics. You may take on the role of Customer Architect for key strategic customers, ensuring architectural quality across sales engagements and project deliveries. When joining Tieto Banktech as a Software Architect you will:

• Participate in a team with product and system responsibility to Tieto Card solutions.
• Participate in the migration from legacy to cloud-native services, ensuring resilience, scalability, and compliance.
• Participate in the development and rollout of a new secure, scalable API developer portal, enabling efficient onboarding and integration for both internal and external developers.
• Actively contribute as a member of the enterprise architect team and participate in architecture boards, collaborating to set and uphold architecture principles and standards.
• Participate in solution reviews, ensuring that all proposed solutions align with architecture principles, security, and compliance requirements.
• Communicate clearly by producing and sharing artifacts, decision logs, architecture overviews, and stakeholder updates to maintain transparency and alignment across teams.
• Foster a culture of architectural excellence and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.

Who We Are Looking For Someone With

• Experience as an architect or technology with hands‑on expertise leading complex modernization projects with API ecosystems.
• Being able to lead cross‑functional teams and architect communities, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement across technology, product, and compliance domains.
• Experience operationalizing architecture governance, presenting to boards/steering groups, and ensuring alignment with architecture principles, security, and compliance requirements.
• Agile mindset and results orientation, with a passion for driving innovation and delivering on strategic technology roadmaps.
• Ability and motivation to take on the Customer Architect role for large strategic customers over time, supporting deep‑dive sales processes and ensuring quality in project deliveries.
• Eagerness to contribute to a large, dynamic organization with many interesting and important architecture tasks on the horizon.
