Kongsberg Gruppen is seeking a Systems Engineer to shape advanced automotive solutions from concept to production. You will work with customers, suppliers and global engineering teams to drive the development lifecycle and ensure technical scope alignment.

Qualifications

• Higher technical education in mechatronic, electronic or software with product development experience.
• Knowledge of automotive systems (transmission, powertrain, actuation, chassis).
• Interest in automotive innovation incl. electric powertrain, autonomous driving, vehicle safety.
• Strong communication in English and a second European language.

Responsibilities

• Manage requirement handling along the complete development cycle.
• Develop the system concept in collaboration with sub-system owners.
• Manage customer expectations and approvals to proceed.
• Organize tasks with team members and align deliverables with the project manager.
• Review technical concept with the product owner.
• Participate in processes and standards per the development process.
• Maintain collaboration with sub-contractors, suppliers and global teams.
• Maintain and share knowledge throughout the project team.

Join us in shaping the future of mobility. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in developing advanced automotive solutions, working closely with customers, suppliers, and global engineering teams from concept to production.

Who are you?

You are an innovative minded engineer, who excel in understanding mechatronic systems working in automotive environments, including mechanical, electronic and software components. You combine the technical competence and the team spirit which makes you drive problem solving as a team effort. Based on facts and physics, you drive a constructive communication with the customer to reach agreement on technical scope, documentation expectations, and compliance with customer specific standards. The candidate should show a strong ability to turn the customer agreements into executable actions for our engineering team and further towards our supplier network.

Your main tasks

• Manage requirement handling along the complete development cycle

• Organize the task with the different team members and align deliverable with the project manager
• Review technical concept in collaboration with the product owner
• Participate in activities required by processes and standards according to the development process
• Maintain close collaboration with sub-contractors, suppliers and internal teams located around the globe
• Maintain and share knowledge throughout project team and skills

We are looking for you who have:

• Higher technical education (Bachelor / Master) in mechatronic, electronic and/or software and relevant experiences in product development
• Knowledge of automotive systems (transmission and powertrain, actuation, chassis)
• Interest in automotive innovation including electric powertrain, autonomous driving, vehicle safety
• Goal oriented, structured, and independent, while open and team focus
• Good collaboration skills, and ability to build and maintain relationships
• Communication skills in English and at least one more European language
