Job summary

Expro in Stavanger seeks an experienced Senior Workshop Maintenance Technician to join our Well Testing & Commissioning group. You will maint​ain, diagnose, repair and prep a wide range of well testing and commissioning equipment, ensuring it is compliant and ready for deployment.

This senior hands-on role also provides guidance and on-the-job support to technicians, contributing to safe and efficient workshop operations.

Qualifications

• Recognised technical qualification in mechanical or instrumentation, or similar.
• Experience in workshop maintenance of oil & gas equipment is preferred.
• Strong attention to documentation and compliance, and a safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and predictive maintenance, including fault diagnosis and repair.
• Prepare and maintain equipment to ensure it is operationally ready and compliant.
• Assist with rigging up, building, and rigging down equipment as required.
• Inspect equipment and complete documentation with accurate revision control.
• Support supervision and provide guidance to junior technicians in the workshop.
• Ensure all job packs are completed and returned to the Supervisor.
• Coordinate with Supervisor and operations to communicate schedules and ensure safe task completion.

Overall Purpose of the Job

We are seeking an experienced Senior Workshop Maintenance Technician to join our Well Testing & Commissioning product line based in Stavanger. Working within a workshop environment, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair and preparation of a wide range of well testing and commissioning equipment, ensuring it is fully compliant with company standards and ready for operational deployment.

This is a senior, hands-on role that will also involve providing guidance and on-the-job support to technicians, contributing to safe and efficient workshop operations.

Key Activities And Accountabilities

• Carry out preventative and predictive maintenance, including fault diagnosis and repair, in line with work plans and company quality and certification standards
• Prepare and maintain equipment to ensure it is operationally ready and compliant with company and industry requirements
• Assist with the rigging up, building, and rigging down of equipment as required
• Inspect equipment and complete all associated documentation, ensuring accuracy and correct revision control in line with company procedures
• Support the direction, basic job training and task supervision of technicians within the workshop
• Ensure all job packs are fully completed, updated and returned to the Supervisor at the end of each work period
• Liaise effectively with the Supervisor, team members and operations personnel to ensure work schedules are clearly communicated and tasks are completed safely and efficiently

Job Knowledge And Qualifications

• Recognisedtechnical qualification (mechanical, instrumentation or similar)
• Proven previous experience working within a workshop environment, ideally supporting oil & gas equipment
• Strong background in maintenance, diagnosis and repair of complex equipment
• Previous experience with DAQ systems would be a distinct advantage
• Ability to provide guidance and support to junior technicians
• Strong attention to detail, particularly with documentation and compliance
• Proactive, safety-focused and able to work effectively as part of a team
