Job summary

Newcode.ai is a fast-growing legal tech and agentic AI company transforming how legal work is done. The role is fully remote across the EU, including Norway, and requires building production-grade backend systems that power confidential document retrieval and AI-assisted analysis.

You’ll own the retrieval stack end to end, including document parsing, embedding, indexing, and results delivery. You’ll design search, ensure data isolation, and ship dependable services in Python and FastAPI at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend systems in production environments.
• Experience shipping retrieval or RAG components is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving with end-to-end data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own retrieval pipeline end to end: parsing, embedding, indexing, and reindexing.
• Design and optimize semantic+keyword search with vector databases.
• Build and maintain agentic retrieval flows and multi-step pipelines.
• Develop evaluation layers with metrics and tracing for reliable results.
• Ship robust services in Python/FastAPI with scalable background jobs.
