Senior Software Engineer – Test Automation

A fast-growing robotics company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Test Automation to join a small engineering team building the internal test automation platform behind next-generation autonomous systems. This is a highly hands-on role where you will help develop the infrastructure used to validate hardware, software, and autonomous behaviour before systems reach the field.

Successful candidates will design and build a fully automated, Python-based testing platform that replicates real-world operator workflows. You will develop automated tests covering firmware and software updates, hardware self-checks, fleet configuration, takeoff, mission execution, return-to-base scenarios, and failure injection, ensuring autonomous systems behave reliably under real-world conditions.

You will help scale Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and integrate the platform tightly with CI/CD, enabling end-to-end testing and validation at scale. You will also develop orchestration tools for automated customer demonstrations and support the smooth integration of new hardware into the test environment.

This is a greenfield engineering opportunity with significant ownership and creative freedom. You will work closely with software, hardware, and product teams to build robust testing infrastructure from scratch, with your work directly contributing to the safety, reliability, and performance of autonomous systems.
