Job summary

Role emphasizes expert linguistic judgment, not data entry, with flexible scheduling and a pilot task before onboarding. Remote work within Norway is supported, with per-task or per-minute compensation based on audio complexity.

Qualifications

• Native fluency in Norwegian; lifelong residence or deep immersion in Norway.
• Working knowledge of both Bokmal and Nynorsk orthography.
• Ability to identify and transcribe major Norwegian regional dialects.
• Comfort with high degree of dialectal variation in everyday Norwegian speech.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text following Perle's style guide.
• Apply conventions for speaker IDs, overlapping speech, disfluencies, fillers, and non-speech events.
• Make principled orthographic decisions for dialectal and code-switched speech.
• Flag ambiguous segments and audio quality issues; self-review before delivery.
• Collaborate with QA reviewers on edge cases and style guide updates.
