Job summary

Uniper is seeking a Senior Nordic Power Trader to lead proprietary trading across power, gas and carbon in the Nordic region. The role requires close collaboration with internal portfolio managers and analysts to develop hedging strategies and forecasting models.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of Nordic trading experience, knowledge of Nordic thermal and hydro systems, and fluency in English plus a Nordic language. The position emphasizes analytical rigor and ability to perform under pressure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years proprietary trading experience from the Nordic market.
• Experience from an international trading house or major utility with a Nordic focus.
• Knowledge of Nordic thermal and hydro fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, meteorological, structuring, pricing and model building skills.
• Fluency in English and one Nordic language (Norwegian/Swedish/Danish).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Your responsibilities

• Run your own propriety trading strategy across power, gas and carbon
• Interact closely with internal portfolio managers and analysts to develop successful hedging and trading strategies and ideas
• Interact closely with analysts to develop successful trading strategies and trading ideas
• Actively participate in developing forecasting models
• Support asset optimisation and dynamic hedging activities. Interact closely with internal portfolio managers and analysts to develop successful hedging and trading strategies and ideas
• Manage a close relation to your colleagues working in the risk functions

Your profile

• Minimum 7 years proprietary trading experience from the Nordic market with both standard and non-standard products
• Experience from international trading house or major utility with a focus on the Nordic Region, but with trading experience in adjacent markets. Including but not limited to German power, Coal and CO2
• Detailed knowledge about the fundamental specifications of the Nordic thermal and hydro system
• Strong analytical, meteorological, structuring, pricing and model building skills
• Fluency in English and in one of the following Nordic languages: Norwegian, Swedish or Danish
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight timing deadlines
