Job description

Join us in empowering healthcare workers with the mobile app of the future!

Location: Oslo, Bodø, Bergen or Remote anywhere in Norway

Salary: 1.075M - 1.125M NOK/year

As our first Mobile Developer, you will lead the development of a mobile app that empowers healthcare workers, enabling them to provide life-changing services with ease. You will architect, build, and maintain the mobile app that supports homecare nurses and medical staff, especially in underserved areas with limited internet connectivity.

We are on a mission to save the healthcare system by making the complex simple. We are battling outdated documentation and reporting tools by building a new cloud-based patient system that will radically ease the way clinicians work and collaborate— from the ground up.

Our web app is live— now we want to build a mobile app that brings Aidn's advanced features to clinicians' fingertips, even in challenging environments. Our goal is to enable healthcare workers to provide better care and improve the quality of life for more people, particularly helping them to live longer in their own homes.

This is your chance to be part of the largest investment in eHealth systems within Norwegian municipalities.

What You'll Do

This app is critical to our mission, as it supports healthcare professionals in their daily work, ensuring they can provide better care to more people. Typical tasks include:

  • Architect the future of our Aidn app: Plan, develop, and maintain our core mobile app architecture, enabling our product teams to build functionality that helps healthcare workers in their daily work.
  • Write high-quality, scalable structure and components: Clean, well-tested, and easy to maintain for long-term success using React Native.
  • Make an impact with smart decisions: Balance speed, flow, performance, and quality while keeping it simple. We believe in your judgment.
  • Create a beautiful, user-friendly UI: Our design has been recognized with the Red Dot Award, and we need you to collaborate with our designers to continue delivering user-friendly solutions.
  • Ensure app security and reliability: Aidn is critical infrastructure for our customers, and it must be secure and operational.
  • Streamline releases: Use CI/CD pipelines to build, publish, and roll out updates efficiently.
  • Collaborate effectively: Share insights, give and receive feedback, and work as a team to build the best product.
  • Mentor and train others: As one of our first mobile app developers, play a key role in fostering an app development culture by mentoring peers.

We think you’ll thrive at Aidn if...

  • You have proven experience in developing scalable mobile applications, ideally using React Native and TypeScript.
  • You’ve led or mentored frontend engineers, helping them build mobile app components and implement best practices.
  • You have a strong background in creating user-centric app experiences for iOS and Android, focusing on performance and intuitive interfaces.
  • You’re comfortable communicating in English.
  • (Nice to have) You have experience with native development in Swift or Kotlin and are familiar with Agile and product development practices.

Aidn is part of the Kernel cooperation, where we build technology for the next generation of welfare societies. With strong financial backing, we are a fully autonomous startup building our company from the ground up.

Aidn values diversity and promotes an inclusive, welcoming environment. Read our Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging policy in our handbook.
