Job description

Autostore is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for our Grid Team and connected products (R&D). The Grid is the mechanical framework that our Cube Storage System is built on top of. You will take technical ownership of our Grid and connected systems, execute changes and upgrades, and work with relevant stakeholders to to roll them out effectively.

Task and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of the grid and connected products, ensuring quality, structural integrity, and design alignment
  • Assess product performance within the AutoStore context, identifying technical gaps and driving broad improvements
  • Be hands-on in structural evaluations such as floor level accuracy, load calculations, and compliance with seismic and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Partners, Product Owners, Project Managers, and R&D teams to meet project objectives
  • Lead improvement initiatives by assembling and guiding project teams while fostering a collaborative, cross-disciplinary development culture


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with emphasis on structural analysis, including floor slab design, load calculations, and geotechnical considerations
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (relevant experience may substitute formal education)
  • Proficient in engineering tools such as Ansys Workbench (or similar FEA), AutoCAD, Inventor, Ansys, MathCad Prime, and Cyclone 3DR for point cloud processing
  • Skilled in product development and manufacturing methodologies, including aluminum extrusion (hot and cold), die design, and prototyping, among others.

Location for this role is either in our offices in either in our Headquarters in Vindafjord (Nedre Vats) or Oslo (Lysaker)
