Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who thrives on collaboration and reliability. Our team develops, delivers, and maintains complex winch and handling systems for a broad range of vessels within the offshore market. Currently, we have a special focus on solutions within offshore wind and renewables. With us, you will contribute to developing new and exciting products and be part of a highly skilled team. The position is in our Propulsion and Handling division, which owns, develops, and delivers world-class handling solutions, focusing on system solutions and integration to drive increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations, and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s winches and handling solutions.

Key Accountabilities

1. Lead development of new products, systems, and concepts
2. Design and verification of winches and other handling equipment
3. Collaborate across multiple disciplines within Kongsberg
4. Execute and coordinate customer deliveries
5. Shape product areas in close collaboration with key industry players
6. Support our sales organization with solutions and offers for customers
7. Contribute socially and professionally to our team

Qualifications and Experience

1. Degree in mechanical engineering or a similar field
2. Strong competence in mechanical 3D design, using NX/Teamcenter
3. Knowledge of hydraulics or structural calculation experience/competence
4. Experience with system integration
5. Experience in project execution and customer interaction
6. Maritime industry or offshore marine operations experience is an advantage
