Elastic is seeking a Senior Security Research Engineer to reverse engineer malware, develop scalable protections, and publish findings. Qualifications

• 6+ years reversing malware and researching adversary tradecraft across PE/ELF/Mach-O
• Python development for research tooling and automation; read C/C++
• YARA authorship and hunting at scale; large telemetry datasets
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux internals, HTTP/TLS, cryptography concepts
• Technical writing to produce clear, public analyses
• Proven ability to learn new runtimes (Rust, Go, NodeJS) as needed
• Collaborative mentality; ability to mentor others and work across teams

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer novel malware across Windows, macOS, Linux
• Operate global data systems to surface threats and contextualize campaigns
• Develop protections, signatures, and automation for rapid investigations
• Publish research to Elastic Security Labs and public repositories
• Collaborate with Elastic Security teams on threat intelligence and detection projects
• Lead investigations and mentor researchers across the team
