Job summary

Job description

We are looking for an Senior ML Engineer to join the Research and Development department at Squarehead Technology. In this role, you will work on developing and training machine learning models for detection and classification of acoustic events, including drones and other airborne or ground based targets. You will contribute to building robust audio AI systems using real world acoustic data collected from advanced sensor platforms.

You will be working closely with a team of scientists with expertise in signal processing, array technology, audio event detection and tracking, classification, and data science. The position offers a chance to work in a collaborative environment where machine learning and signal processing come together in solving real life engineering problems.

Responsibilities
  • Curate, organize, and maintain high quality audio datasets for machine learning applications.
  • Train, evaluate, and improve machine learning models for audio event classification and detection, including drones and other acoustic targets.
  • Analyze model performance and enhance performance and robustness under challenging acoustic conditions
  • Collaborate closely with scientists and engineers in signal processing, acoustics, and data science.
  • Support data labeling, validation, and experiment design for ML development.
  • Research and apply relevant machine learning methods for audio and acoustic data.
Required Qualifications
  • MSc or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience in training and evaluating machine learning models.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Good understanding of classification, detection, and model evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
