Job summary

Cognite is seeking an engineer to own major parts of our identity platform, from design through production. You will lead design reviews, set technical direction, and translate requirements into scalable, secure solutions for identity, access management, and auditing at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience in Rust or Kotlin, ideally in a SaaS environment.
• Track record of owning a business-critical service in production across design, delivery and operation.
• Deep interest or hands-on expertise in authorization, authentication, OAuth2/OIDC, tokens and multi-tenancy.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Experience using AI coding assistants with sound judgement about when to rely on their output and when to verify it.
• Ability to resolve complex issues from logs, traces and metrics and communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own major parts of our identity platform, from design through production.
• Lead design reviews and set technical direction, testing practices, and operational standards.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into scalable, secure designs for identity, access management and auditing at scale.
• Build and operate services end to end in Rust and Kotlin, and applications in TypeScript.
• Shape product direction by collaborating with engineering, product and customer success.
• Mentor engineers and raise the standard of code review, reliability and operational excellence.
