Cognite, a leader in industrial digitalization, seeks engineers to own major identity platform components from design through production. You will drive security, authentication, and multi-tenant architecture while delivering scalable services in Rust, Kotlin, and TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 5+ years production experience in Rust or Kotlin, ideally from a SaaS product environment, and the flexibility to learn the other.
• Track record of owning a business-critical service in production, through design, delivery, and operation.
• Deep interest or hands-on expertise in authorization, authentication, and security, OAuth2/OIDC, tokens, and multi-tenancy.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AI coding assistants and agents in day-to-day engineering, with judgement on when to rely on them.
• Skilled at resolving complex issues from logs, traces, and metrics, prioritizing for impact, and communicating clearly across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own major parts of our identity platform, from design through production.
• Lead design reviews and set technical direction, testing practices, and operational standards.
• Translate requirements into scalable, secure designs for identity, access management, and auditing at scale.
• Build and operate services end to end in Rust and Kotlin, and applications in TypeScript.
• Shape product direction by collaborating with engineering, product, and customer success teams.
• Mentor engineers and raise the standard of code review, reliability, and operational excellence.
