Job summary

ISS STOXX GmbH is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy full-stack features for our core platform. You will work across the stack, building scalable systems with React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend, connected to PostgreSQL.

You will implement GraphQL APIs with Hasura and NHOST, containerize using Docker, and collaborate with product managers and designers. A strong engineering mindset and experience with testing and code reviews are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven hands-on experience with the core technology stack: Backend: Node.js; Frontend: React; Database: PostgreSQL; API & Services: GraphQL, Hasura, NHOST; Containerization: Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions across the full stack (front-end and back-end).
• Architect and implement GraphQL APIs using Hasura and custom resolvers to provide efficient data access for client applications.
• Develop and maintain backend services and serverless functions using Node.js, integrated with NHOST and PostgreSQL.
• Build dynamic, responsive, and user-friendly web interfaces using React.
• Containerize applications using Docker to ensure consistency across development, staging, and production environments.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.

• Proven hands-on experience with the core technology stack:

• Backend: Node.js

• Frontend: React

• Database: PostgreSQL (including schema design and performance optimization)

• API & Services: GraphQL, Hasura, NHOST

• Containerization: Docker

• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

• Demonstrated experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Mocha, Chai) and a commitment to writing testable code.

• Proficiency with version control systems, preferably Git.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Good-to-Have Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python or Java for backend development or tooling.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.

• Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools.

• Understanding of agile development methodologies.

• Exposure to AI technologies or frameworks.
