Job summary

Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. is seeking a driven Associate Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and help build the next generation of our full stack platform.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers to design, develop, and ship features across the stack using React, Node.js, Hasura, PostgreSQL, Nhost, and Docker. This role requires 3–5 years of hands-on software development, a passion for quality, and strong collaboration across frontend, backend, and data layers to

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional or intensive project-based software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with React, Hasura, Nhost and Docker.
• Solid working knowledge of Node.js, Express or similar frameworks and PostgreSQL.
• Proficient with Git and modern development workflows (feature branches, PRs, CI awareness).
• Ability to troubleshoot across frontend, backend and data layers and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack features: frontend UIs in React, backend logic in Node.js, and data layers via PostgreSQL and Hasura.
• Build and deploy serverless functions and auth-aware services using Nhost.
• Containerize development and deployment workflows with Docker to ensure parity with production.
• Extend and consume GraphQL APIs powered by Hasura.
• Write clean, testable code with unit/integration tests; participate in code reviews and sprint planning.
• Document work and actively contribute to team knowledge sharing.
