Job summary

wheel.me in Oslo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own Developer Experience by building CI/CD pipelines, internal tools and test frameworks to ship a high-quality product for a growing robot fleet. You’ll design scalable infrastructure spanning robot-to-cloud and collaborate with the hardware and software teams.

This hands-on role emphasizes reliable releases, fast builds and trustworthy tests, in a dynamic international environment with a base at Skøyen, Oslo.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production software with ownership of CI/CD pipelines, build systems and test automation.
• Experience building CI for compiled code such as C and C++: containerized builds, caching and parallel jobs, with knowledge of compilers and toolchains.
• Experience with unit, integration and system level test automation.
• Experience with release and deployment automation.
• Shortening developer feedback loops and handling flaky tests.
• Comfortable working close to hardware and collaborating across engineering teams.
• Strong systems foundation and ability to ramp quickly over framework specifics.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines and build systems across the stack, from robot to cloud, scalable for multiple robot types.
• Build test frameworks and pipelines for unit, integration, on-target and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Automate the build and release process across the stack.
• Develop tooling, quality gates, and static analysis to improve code quality.
• Make builds reproducible and pipelines measurable (time, failures, flaky tests).
• Reduce build times, minimize flaky tests, and shorten commit-to-robot-run path.
• Collaborate with engineers to remove bottlenecks in build/test/ship cycles.
• Develop monorepo conventions and shared workflows with the tech teams.
