Job summary

Aker Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Oslo or Stavanger. You will develop AI/ML solutions, collaborate with engineers and domain experts, and drive practical AI applications across engineering and operations.

You will translate complex concepts for diverse stakeholders, deploy production-grade models, and contribute to cross-disciplinary AI initiatives to enable better decisions and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in CS/DS/SE/math/statistics or related field.
• Experience designing, training, fine-tuning, evaluating and deploying LLMs and VLMs.
• Strong Python programming and building production-grade ML solutions with FastAPI/Flask/Streamlit.
• Hands-on ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn; experiment tracking with TensorBoard/MLflow.
• Experience deploying AI solutions on Azure platforms (Azure AI Foundry/ML/OpenAI).
• Knowledge of MLOps: CI/CD, versioning, testing, monitoring, lifecycle management.
• Experience with Pandas, Spark, SQL; good data processing pipelines.
• Fluent written/spoken English; Norwegian language skills advantageous.

• Develop, test and deploy AI, ML and data-driven solutions creating measurable business value.
• Explore opportunities, build proof-of-concepts; identify practical AI applications in engineering and operations.
• Collaborate with domain experts and stakeholders to translate challenges into scalable solutions.
• Maintain and monitor AI solutions for reliability, performance and user experience.
• Contribute to AI initiatives including predictive analytics, computer vision and emerging AI tech.
• Support knowledge sharing, promote best practices, strengthen AI capabilities across the org.
